While working as a Communications Business Partner for the HR organization at Roche, I was introduced to the concepts of employer branding and talent marketing. I had the opportunity to overhaul the Indianapolis site’s external-facing careers site and produce a variety of marketing pieces, video stories and compelling social media content designed to attract strong talent to the company.

Financial Services Marketing

When I started at OneAmerica in Jan. 2016, my first assignment was to develop a comprehensive employee engagement and benefits education program. The goal was to help the employees of our policyholders understand the need for life and disability insurance. I conducted industry research and met regularly with OneAmerica account managers to learn about their needs and the challenges they were facing during open enrollment meetings. Then, I set out to develop a communications strategy and a suite of benefits education marketing collateral to help increase our enrollment participation rates. The result was two animated videos, 16 consumer-facing print and digital pieces and five process documents.

Health Care Marketing

I worked in Community Health Network‘s Marketing Department from December 2006 to December 2008. During that time, the new Community Hospital North celebrated its grand reopening after an 850,000-square-foot expansion. I had the opportunity to work on a variety of marketing communications, such as annual reports, brochures, fliers, talking points, speeches, letters from executives and more.

Community Hospital North Grand Opening Folder

This geometrical folder was given to guests during the April 2007 grand opening of Community Hospital North. Inserts describing the features of each unit were available in the new units and could be added to the folder for a more complete explanation of Community Hospital North. The goal was to concisely describe many of the innovative, technologically-advanced and architectural features that visitors would find inside the new Community Hospital North. The goal was that the folder would help visitors pick and choose the units and areas they would like to visit or know more about. The event was attended by 8,000 members of the community.

Indianapolis Star Newspaper Ad

This ad (PDF) appeared in the Indianapolis Star’s South edition on May 29, 2008. The objective was to showcase an inspirational volunteer story to encourage others to volunteer at Community Hospital South.

Community Home Health Services Annual Report

While at Community, I compiled the 2007 annual report for Community Home Health Services. This included gathering information, writing stories and even managing the cover photo shoot.

Kiwanis International is a worldwide service and leadership organization. From January 2009 to May 2011, I worked on a variety of marketing collateral and membership communications for Key Club, the oldest and largest high school service organization in the world, and Circle K International (CKI), Kiwanis’ collegiate service organization. I’ve included PDFs of some of the pieces I’m most proud of.
